In January, Redpoint Ventures invests $15 million in MySpace and its parent Intermix Media. In July, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch buys MySpace and its parent company for $580 million.

2006

In January, Adam Horowitz and fellow Beastie Boys help the launch of MySpace Film at the Sundance Film Festival. Launches in the United Kingdom with more than one million registered users in June! In July, the site launches MySpace Comedy, featuring 8,000 comedians including Carlos Mencia. By August MySpace Australia opens for business with more than one million registered users.

2007

MySpace continues its success journey with an estimated 150 million users and is growing day by day generating millions and millions of turnover.
